In recent years, there has been a gradual rise in university students opting to pursue their tertiary education across the border. The choice to pursue education abroad presents an opportunity for individuals to access esteemed and advanced academic institutions. However, this decision entails the potential loss of highly educated professionals from one’s home country. I believe that benefits of the decision to study abroad will exceed its drawbacks.
The greatest benefit of studying abroad is that it allows learners to enroll in institutions with advanced facilities and expert faculties in their specific field of study. Not only will the qualities of this school assist the students to delve deep into their subject, but also honing the skills and expertise will ensure a better career. Furthermore, it entails honour and respect from an individual’s relatives and society. For instance, my university seniors who chose to study at renowned universities abroad are more experts and tend to get better jobs and salaries than their friends staying in their home country. These opportunities are the main advantages of studying overseas because they enrich a student with more knowledge and the potential to uphold their career.
On the contrary, this circumstance of migrating will see the decline of potential and promising talents in the native country of those students. Since, a considerable number of students who went to study abroad find it comfortable and suitable to settle in that land and build their careers,. Whereas, to march forward in the path of development, a country requires its educated manpower. The repercussions, owing to a lack of them, are going to be a setback to its estimated progress. For instance, a record by Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics illustrates that 60% of students didn’t return after completing their higher studies overseas.
Studying overseas has become incredibly common. While, the possibility of hindrance in progress of a nation is no doubt, by virtue of globalization, it can mitigate those problems by connecting with and reaching out to its expert citizens staying abroad. To conclude, it is evident that migrating overseas with the purpose of higher study is more advantageous than disadvantageous.”
