The above graph illustrates , The consumption of fast food in Australia in the last 25 years, mainly focused on three fast food items ,pizza, fish and chips and hamburgers.
Over the last quarter of a century , Australia has seen a steady decline in the consumption of fish and chips from (1975 -1980) from eaten about hundred times to about 82 times a year ,then we see a slight increase from (1980-85) from 82 times to in the 90 range ,followed by a massive decrease from 1985 to the 2000s, to being consumed to less then 40 times a year, while in contrast ,the consumption of hamburgers has skyrocketed from 1975 to 1985, being consumed almost 80 times a year, then it experiences a slow and steady increase in the next decade , to hitting the high peak of a 100 times per year ,following which it seemingly plateaued, in the 100 range till the 2000s, the consumption if pizzas saw a drastic increase over the years, from 1975 to 1995 to being consumed more then 80 times a year and has been consistently remained at that mark for over the coming years seeing a stagnant growth.
to summarize ,the increase in the consumption of hamburgers was the most exponential ,followed closely by the consumption of pizza and the decline of the consumption of fish and chips being very apparent.
