The bar chart depicts figures for incidents and injuries on the average of 100 million people using different transportations in 2002.
Overall, it is evident that demand response was attributed to by far the most incidents and injuries among five vehicles. Additionally, it is also visible from the chart that the rail transports witnessed less such events compared to the road traffic.
Looking at the chart in more detail, the number of accidents caused by demand response was 225 per 100 million passengers which was more than three times that of the bus ( 76 ). Moreover, there were 66 people injured while traveling by bus which was merely less than a half of the figure for demand response, at 173 injuries.
Looking at the rail transportation sector, the incidents made of light, heavy and commuter rail proportionally decreased with 76, 51 and 20 respectively. Also similar were the figures for 39, 35 and 17 injuries correspondingly regarding the three rail transports, namely light rail, heavy rail and commuter rail.
