In general, it is noticeable that the proportion involved in e-commerce purchases across the years and sectors was diverse with the outstanding prominence of the information and communications industry.
Looking at the details of the information and communications industry, the consumption level of each year reaches the highest value compared to other industries throughout the process. There was a greater proportion of businesses involved accounting for 60%, and 70% in 2008 and 2010 respectively, and this number saw a soar and peak at almost 75% in 2011. Turning to the wholesale industry, the rate of companies purchasing e-commerce goods followed a similar pattern, beginning at 40% and then increasing gradually through the period. This number in the retail industry saw a dramatic rise from 30% to 50% from 2008 to 2009, but then, it gradually stabilized and there were no more sudden changes in the remaining 3 years of the period. The ratio of corporations purchasing e-commerce goods in the construction industry generally accounts for the smallest share of industries starting at over 20%, increasing steadily over the years and reaching over 50% in the end. As regards manufacturing, there was a fluctuation in the period. The percentage of consumption leveled up rapidly from 30% to more than 50% in 2009. But in the 2 following years, this number saw a slight drop. At the end of the period, there was a recovery in the proportion of manufacturing when it grew to nearly 60%.
