There is a view that space exploration is sheer extravagance to allocate investment, while there are more severe problems are waiting to be solved, such aa in the field of healthcare and global hunger. I strongly believe that money spending space missions should be devoted to settle the problems on Earth.
On the one hand, it is undeniable that humanity has achieved profound triumphs in the fields from medicine to materials science inclusive from exploring the universe. Searching the answer for the question how to sustain human life in space has led to advances in water purification, medical imaging and even cancer treatment. In addition, these kinds of innovationsare not just used in exploring the cosmos but even in wide range of applications beyond that. Moreover, while mineral resources on Earth are being exploited investigating possible mining prosperities on asteroids would be highly beneficial. Because it would give and access us to mine rare metals which are in shortage on Earth but abundant in asteroids.
On the other hand, there are grave concerns on Earth which are delayed due to deficiency in funding. First and foremost of them is global hunger. It is evident climate change and wars between countries left majority of people in global hunger in parts of the world. These issues are postponed because of lack of money. Furthermore, many diseases are deriving increasingly year by year and available illness is getting worse and spreading all over the world at immediate rate. It would be advantageous to distribute government budget to look for potential treatments for these illnesses and improve the situation.
To conclude, while many advancements springed from space exploration, such as developments in water purification and medical imaging, I am firmly idea of that devoting fundings of this field to available issues on Earth.
