Regarding fish import from China, a remarkable growth occured. About double the initial import is seen, accumulated to 30% in 2000, which initially commenced at 13% in 1988 and increased slightly to 20%. Fish acquisition commenced at 60% in 1988, plummeted to 34% in 4 years time and finally lowered down to 28% in the year 2000.
In 1988, fish acquired from foreign source to US at about 6.57 billion dollars. It steadily increased approximately 2 billion dollars in the following period (1992) as well as the last period (2000).
