Individuals assume that the authorities do not have to allocate substantial amount of money on space exploration programmes in any case. I partially agree with this statement and my standpoint on this subject will be explained thoroughly in the next paragraphs.
On one hand, allocating funds for space programmes may provide the people with some merits. For instance, earth’s increasing population causes governments to announce mounting concern, constraining the water resources and food supplies for individuals. If scientists are able to find a planet that is inhabitable, it is going to be one of the possible solutions of our world’s increasing issues. Moreover, it is irrefutable that our assumptions about what other planets can contain are limited. That is why, researchers might find valuable items or clues which can reveal the merits and demerits of life in space and can be beyond our expectations, providing us with a chance to benefit considerably.
On the other hand, it is not logical and acceptable to participate in such kinds of programmes without taking into consideration the problems that need instant and quick solutions on the earth. Nowadays the society suffer from famine and water shortage in many parts of the world. Neglecting those issues and preserving funds only with an intention of exploring space can lead the world to more dilemmas that cannot be solved, minimising the life expectancy of people for the reason that shortage. For instance, research suggests that a large proportion of people pass away every year, lacking water and food supply in some countries, which is a result of negligence. Furthermore, it is irrefutable that exploring the unknown requires to invest a lot and it cannot assure us that we are going to discover something really precious or distinct. Thus, in some cases it is only a waste of money rather than significant research that has been done to prove something pivotal.
In conclusion, this topic presents some drawbacks and advantages and in both situations it requires huge investment by officials.
