Making new routes and facilities to access remote cultural heritage locations is a growing trend among many countries. Providing these kinds of accessibility can be appreciated by tourists, but in my opinion, it is a harmful development towards local habitats and can affect environment in detrimental way. This essay will discuss the negative effects.
Local habitats are disturbed largely because while making roads and museums, there will be deforestation and many animals can lose their primary path. While marking new path or region, they can be confused and end their life in accident by four-wheeler. Visiting cultural sites can be harmful for visitors because cutting down of plants and trees leads to degradation of air quality and increase of CO2 level.
If a greater number of people have reach to remote sites, keeping places neat and clean can be challenging for government because cleaners and helpers are hard to find in the region of archaeological sites. For example, in India, there are lots of archaeological temples in dense forests and mountain. Just because there is no living population and nobody is ready to go because of dark dense area, the sites remain closed till date.
Ultimately, providing development to remote location can affect in several negative ways. Uneasy for animals and birds living near to running road and that can increase CO2, this all end up pollution in environment.
