The presented bar graph illustrates the percentage of accommodations that were owned and rented from 1918 to 2011 in England and Wales.

Overall, at first glance, it is clearly seen that rented accommodation declined slightly, while the owned one climbed; however, the rented accommodation then went up.

Primarily, it was observed that at the starting year, rented accommodation was at the top of the graph, whereas,conversely, owned accommodation started with almost the lowest number. Between 1939-1953, there were no significant changes in the two given accommodations; however, then owned housing decreased in number and stayed equal with the rented accommodation in 1971, due to which rentedaccommodation increased slowly.

Turning to the next forty years after the equality of the two households, rented accommodation significantly declined until 2001 to almost 30%, but then it did a slight climb to 35%. Owned accommodation showed an upsurge and increased to 69% in 2001, then fell to almost 65% in 2011.
