In 1970, the cost of black and white TV started at 110 YEN, after which it experienced a plummet to around 40 YEN in 80s period. With the price of color TV, it was 100 YEN in the 70s, with a subsequent decrease to around 70 YEN in 80s period. Opposite changes can be seen in the fact that the average person in Japan got paid every month, they got about 20 YEN per month in 1970 and it slightly increased to approximately 25 YEN in the 80s.
From 1990, the cost of color TV and black and white TV has both fallen. In 2000, the price of color TV was about 50 Yen and 20 YEN with black and white TV. By contrast, the salaries of people here have increased sharply to around 70 YEN in 2000.
