The given line graph demonstrates the amount of Americans consumed a variety of energy beginning in 1970 with a predicted figure in 2030.
Overall, whereas the data witnessed a significant increase in consumption of petrol oil, geothermal and solar/wind; nuclear was the only resource that experienced a downward trend. Especially, this figure is projected with the same trend until the end of the period.
It can be seen in 1970, petrol and oil was a dominant figure with more than 10 billion units. This figure will increase continuously until 2025 and is predicted to become the highest consumption of energy in 2030. Geothermal which was an energy with less than 5 billion consumers, had a considerable upward trend in 2025 that is predicted to increase in 2030. Although the two mentioned energy had a difference in the beginning, it saw a mirrored rate of increase. In particular, solar/wind energy was the lowest consumption with nearly no use by people in 1970; however, by 2025, this figure experienced a dramatic increase which was 15-fold compared with the beginning. The amount of consumers in solar/wind is hopeful to increase rapidly in 2030.
It is evident that nuclear that was an energy with 2nd ranking in the list of resources with more than 5 billion units. 1970 to 2000 was the period during which a substantial decrease was witnessed. Until 2025, this figure saw a slight decrease that is predicted to reach a low of less than 5 billion units in 2030.
