It is true that all plastic products should be replaced with more environmentally-friendly materials, such as glass. I would say that I fully agree with this idea for some reasons.
To begin with, plastic is hazardous for the environment. There are some reasons why plastic use is considered such that. This is because plastics are non-biodegradable materials, so the huge disposal of plastic waste into the environment could meet some massive problems. Since the global population increases annually and the numbers of plastic usage also escalate significantly, these could trigger the piling of plastic waste to the land, even the ocean. These could be very dangerous for marine animals, especially tortoises, that have been frequently reported to become the victim of plastic waste. As we know, tortoises have been regarded as one of the rare and protected kinds of animals.
In addition, plastic is not safe to use. Since plastic is produced by using chemical substances, we should be aware of using plastic particularly as the vessel or container of our food or beverage. What is more, mostly, plastic materials contain dangerous chemical substances as additives. Bisphenol A or often abbreviated with BPA is one of the substances that should be alerted. This chemical is frequently used in plastic products along with polycarbonate material such as food containers, tumblers and baby bottles. It has been considered very hazardous for health due to its carcinogenic and absorbable to food or beverage we consumed. Some countries are reported to have banned this chemical used in plastic products.
In summary, for the reasons mentioned above, I entirely agree that replacing the use of plastic products with more environmentally-friendly materials is the best choice we have to preserve our earth for the future.
