The graph compares the 3 major issues that residents in 7 cities of the UK dealt with in 2008. Overall, people in all the cities were concerned most about health services and education and training although the former was more serious in some cities while the residents were troubled by the latter in other cities. Air pollution remained the least significant problem in every city.
According to the figures, health services and education and training are by far the biggest issues in the cities in the UK as there is an incredible gap between the two and air pollution. For instance, Belfast and Cardiff are the cities with the highest rates of concerns about health services with 59% and 57%respectively. In other words, they are slightly more serious troubles in New Castle, Birmingham and Manchester than education and training.
In addition, there is no significant difference in the graphs for education and training, all exceeding 50% except for New Castle and Manchester with both approximately 45%. In spite of the severity of the two problems, air pollution is a minor trouble in all 7 cities by different degrees. For example, all the figures stood just below 20% and contamination of air was the least urgent issue in New Castle with only 5%. In contrast, the place that it hit most seriously was Manchester which shared 15% and was almost three times as much as New Castle.
