These days, every time we watch the TV or surf on the Internet, we can see news about new advancements in farming, and some people argue that these all the time have advantage. However, I partly agree with this idea as I will explain my opinions in this essay
Firstly, it is evident that production in farming considerably increased thanks to technology developments, and as a result much more people can meet their needs for vegetables and fruits all over the world. Since scientists find new ways to prevent plant diseases, they become more productive. Once productivity increased, farmers can harvest more amount of crops without enhancing the space for plants which lead to mass production. In my opinion, nowadays mass production is the key for people, especially these who live in poor country
On the other hand, genetically modified organism(GMO) is one of the popular developments in farming, and basically it is used to make fruits and vegetables more resistant for harsh environment. As the population of the world is soaring day by day , GMO is getting widespread in the countries in order to feed all individuals. However, GMO is not considered beneficial and trustworthy method by some scientists and even some of them believe that this can cause the cancer. For example, some Europe countries such as Germany and France, prohibit GMO foods to consume.
In conclusion, scientific breakthroughs in agriculture, especially in farming, is so beneficial because they help to increase the amount of crops, whereas some developments like GMO can result in health problems. However, I believe that despite of some harmful ways, new developments mainly bring big benefits
