Though I recognize various activities throughout my three years of high school, I figure that the event called ‘ social enterprise ‘ is the most meaningful for me. SE was the project from my school in August 2024 during grade 12. This is a sale of goods with all profits going towards charity.
First of all, starting by forming a group of 12 friends, each with their role, and I acted as an accountant of the group, taking care of all the budget spent during the project. We chose t-shirts as our product with the idea that the shirts are low cost and easy to sell. Then, when friends who had the position of T-shirt designer sent various designs to the group, we voted to find the best T-shirt design, and we agreed that the concept of the heart locket represents the crucial thing which is the heart or feelings. It is essential for people to take care of each other. It is also in line with the goal of the Srithanya Foundation, which we will donate the profits to. After that, finding a garment manufacturing factory was a key factor in this project for my position as I had to control the limited budget and use it most efficiently and cost-effectively, including the quality of the shirt must be good enough to be worth the price in order to send it to the customer. We are open for business using a pre-order system to keep our budget in check and avoid overproduction. The pre-order is open for 7 days, during which I have to check my account for the whole week, the amount coming in and going out, and the number of shirts being ordered. In the meantime, we have been using marketing by sending out influencer reviewers to increase the exposure of our products and also selling in the student classrooms. Over the course of the sale, more than 800 shirts were ordered. It was beyond our expectations. Once the order is complete, we have to arrange the orders according to the customers’ orders. We divide the delivery into two types: school pickup and postal delivery. However, the work was not easy for us; we encountered various problems to solve, such as factory production errors and wrong customer order entries, but we worked together to solve the issues and get through them. Finally, when all orders are delivered, and problems are solved, I have the critical task of calculating the cost back to my friends and sending all the profits to the foundation.
In conclusion, I am glad and honored to practice doing business and earn money to help society. In the end, we donated all the profits- 20,000 baht- to the Srithanya Foundation to help society further, and this activity made me want to study economics because I want to learn about money and help society like this in the future.
