The picture depicts transformations that occurred in Youngsville and New Zealand spanning 25 years from 1980 to 2005.
From an overall perspective, it is immediately evident that the area/locality changed considerably over the period shown with the conversion of some areas/regions/zones and the replacement of others.
As can be seen from the map, to the North of the river Alanah, a hospital and a lake in the northwest of the city remained unchanged. Meanwhile, most trees around the lake were cut down to give space to a parking lot to the north and a park to the south of the lake and a golf links to the west of the lake. In 1980, there were two leisure activities on the lake named swim and fishing. In 2005 there were two leisure pursuits added, namely boating and golfing. Moreover, the houses along the coast were destroyed to make way for an extension to the railway line and a large stadium was constructed to the east of the lake. Finally, 2005 saw a marina being built to the right of the railway.
On the other hand, to the South of the river Alanah also experienced several changes. The airport, parking area and school remained untouched. Meanwhile, the trees and woodland were cut down to make way for factories and warehouses to the east of the parking lot. Similarly, skyscrapers were erected in place of the housing to the west of railway station.
