| Q1 | Anna Sharpe | Woman: Yes, it's Anna Sharpe, Sharpe. S-H Man: Like a knife? Woman: Yes, but with an E on the end, and Anna is with double N |
Excerpt/Transcript Explanation: The transcript shows the woman telling the travel agent that her first name is Anna (spelled with two N's) and her last name is Sharpe (spelled with an E at the end). Answer Explanation: The answer is the customer's full name, Anna Sharpe. Reason For Correctness: The correct answer is Anna Sharpe because the travel agent asks the woman for her name, and she clearly says "Anna Sharpe". She also spells out that "Anna" has two N's and "Sharpe" has an "E" at the end. |
| Q2 | Dazzling Destination | Woman: It was your advertisement, in, er, one of the magazines Man: Was it Dazzling Destination? Woman: Yes, that's the one |
Excerpt/Transcript Explanation: The transcript shows the woman saying she found the agency through an ad in a magazine. The man asks if the magazine was called "Dazzling Destination", and she confirms that it was. Answer Explanation: The answer is the name of the magazine, which is "Dazzling Destination". Reason For Correctness: The correct answer is confirmed when the man asks the woman where she heard about their travel agency. She replies that she saw their advertisement in a magazine. The man then asks if the magazine was "Dazzling Destination", and she agrees by saying, "Yes, that's the one." Therefore, "Dazzling Destination" is the source of information. |
| Q3 | Singapore | I like the one called "Amazing Singapore" - the right destination - and the prices seem reasonable | Excerpt/Transcript Explanation: The transcript shows Anna telling the agent that she selected the trip named "Amazing Singapore" because it is the correct place she wants to travel to. Answer Explanation: The answer is Singapore, which is the name of the place Anna wants to visit for her holiday. Reason For Correctness: The correct answer is Singapore because when the travel agent asks if Anna has a specific holiday in mind, she answers that she likes the tour package called "Amazing Singapore". She specifically confirms that this is "the right destination". |
| Q4 | 5 | Oh no, I want to go with my family, so there would be five of us going | Excerpt/Transcript Explanation: The transcript shows Anna confirming that five family members will be going on the holiday. Answer Explanation: The answer means that five people will be traveling together on the trip. Reason For Correctness: The correct answer is "5" because the travel agent asks if the trip is only for Anna or for more people. She replies that she is traveling with her family and clearly says "there would be five of us going". Keywords to listen for are "family" and "five of us". |
| Q5 | September 15th / 15 September / 15th September / September 15 | Woman: Yes, I think, well, we've got to back by the end of September, so if we say going on September 15th, that would be fine | Excerpt/Transcript Explanation: The transcript shows the woman choosing September 15th as the date they will leave for their trip. Answer Explanation: The answer means the 15th day of the month of September. Reason For Correctness: The correct answer is correct because the form asks for the departure date. In the conversation, the man mentions available travel dates, and the woman responds that "going on September 15th, that would be fine." The phrase "going on" refers to the departure date. |
| Q6 | fortnight / two weeks | Man: No problem. And you can also choose the length of your holiday. Which one would you prefer, four days, one week or two weeks? Woman: We thought fortnight would be great | Excerpt/Transcript Explanation: The transcript shows the travel agent asking how long the vacation should be, and the woman chooses a "fortnight" (two weeks). Answer Explanation: The answer means a period of two weeks (which is also called a fortnight). Reason For Correctness: The correct answer is "fortnight/two weeks" because when the travel agent asks the woman to choose the duration of her trip from "four days, one week or two weeks", she states that a "fortnight" would be great. A fortnight means two weeks. |
| Q7 | Super | Man: We've three levels, Standard, Super and Super plus. Woman: Standard seems a bit basic. Let's say Super. That should be sufficient | Excerpt/Transcript Explanation: The transcript shows the travel agent offering three kinds of insurance packages. The customer replies that the simplest one is not enough and directly selects the "Super" plan. Answer Explanation: The answer "Super" is the specific type or level of travel insurance that the customer chooses to buy. Reason For Correctness: The correct answer is confirmed when the travel agent lists three insurance choices: "Standard, Super and Super plus." The woman decides that Standard is too simple ("basic") and clearly chooses "Super" by saying, "Let's say Super. That should be sufficient." Therefore, the type of insurance is Super. |

| Q10 | B / D / F | I think a balcony for the room is a must so I think the night safari would be fun Lying on the soft beach under beautiful sunshine or walking through the coconut plantation under the blue sky. How wonderful! I definitely wouldn't want to miss that |
Excerpt/Transcript Explanation: The transcript shows the customers confirming that they definitely want a room with a balcony, an evening trip to the night safari, and an outing to the beach. Answer Explanation: The answer selects B (night safari), D (room with a balcony), and F (trip to beach) as the three holiday options chosen for the booking. Reason For Correctness: The correct answer is B, D, and F because the discussion explicitly accepts these three activities and rejects the others. For the room, having a balcony is described as "a must" (essential), which corresponds to option D. For activities, the speaker notes that the "night safari would be fun," corresponding to option B. Finally, going to relax on the "soft beach" is described as something they "definitely wouldn't want to miss," matching option F (trip to beach). Other options such as breakfast, beauty therapy, and tennis are clearly declined. |

Man: Hello, you're through to Dream Time Travel. This is David speaking. How may I help you?
Woman: Hello. I'm calling to book a holiday.
Man: Great. May I have your name please?
Woman: Yes, it's Anna Sharpe, Sharpe. S-H...
Man: Like a knife?
Woman: Yes, but with an E on the end, and Anna is with double N.
Man: Right, thank you, Anna. Now, we're delighted that you've called us. Can I ask where you heard about us?
Woman: It was your advertisement, in, er, one of the magazines...
Man: Was it Dazzling Destination?
Woman: Yes, that's the one.
Man: Good. Thank you. It's useful to know.
Woman: Of course.
Man: And did you have a particular holiday in mind? Or was it a general enquiry?
Woman: I think I've chosen. I like the one called "Amazing Singapore" - the right destination - and the prices seem reasonable.
Man: Right. Now was it for yourself only, or...
Woman: Oh no, I want to go with my family, so there would be five of us going.
Man: OK. Now there's a choice of dates, as you know.
Woman: Yes, I think, well, we've got to back by the end of September, so if we say going on September 15th, that would be fine.
Man: No problem. And you can also choose the length of your holiday. Which one would you prefer, four days, one week or two weeks?
Woman: We thought fortnight would be great. You see, enjoying a tension-free holiday, to get away from it all...
Man: Yes. And you do need to have insurance.
Woman: Uh-huh.
Man: We've three levels, Standard, Super and Super plus.
Woman: Standard seems a bit basic. Let's say Super. That should be sufficient.
Man: Fine.
Man: Well, that's all good so far, and the availability's OK. Have you looked through the list of options in the advertisement?
Woman: I have. And I've got the list here. Some of them do seem pretty good. Which ones would you like to take?
Man: In terms of the hotel, the offer of four-course breakfast, we'd leave that. We'd rather choose the lunch buffet. I think a balcony for the room is a must, it's so soothing to sit out, and appreciate the world without a lot of interruptions and distractions.
Woman: Oh, yes.
Man: And then the trips. Er, I think I'll pass on the beauty therapy. I never really enjoy the spa, and golf isn't really my sort of thing, to be honest, any more than tennis is.
Woman: Uh-huh.
Man: But I like natural things, so I think the night safari would be fun. You know, seeing animals in almost every enclosure, you can see them as they go about their business. In some enclosures, you are actually in with them, and that will be amazing, isn't it? Yes, I would think so.
Woman: And then, in terms of getting out of town. Lying on the soft beach under beautiful sunshine or walking through the coconut plantation under the blue sky. How wonderful! I definitely wouldn't want to miss that!
Man: I understand. OK, well, that's all we need for the booking at this point. Just a few details for you, and then we'll check the payment.
