A leisure pool, sports shop, and a third changing room will be made on the west site.

On the south-east site, the outdoor courts will be erased, and two new dance studios, a big sports hall, and a cafe will be made. However, the pool and the reception area will stay the same. The changing room will stay there, and two new changing rooms, one on the south-east site and one on the south-west site, will be built. The diagrams show the present layout of a university sports centre and the major changes that are planned for its redevelopment.

Overall, the sports centre is expected to undergo significant expansion, replacing the outdoor courts with several new indoor facilities. The future design will offer a wider range of amenities, making the centre more comprehensive and modern.

At present, the sports centre consists of a central 25-metre pool, which is flanked by a gym to the north, a changing room to the west, and a seating area to the east. To both sides of the main building, there are outdoor courts, while a reception area is located at the southern entrance.

In the future, the outdoor courts on both sides will be removed to accommodate a leisure pool in the west and a sports hall in the east. The eastern area will also include two dance studios. Additional facilities such as a café, a sports shop, and extra changing rooms will be added along the southern side of the complex. Despite all these modifications, the central 25-metre pool, the gym, and the seating area will remain in their current positions.

The given plans illustrate the layout of a university sports centre at two different stages: the present and its proposed design for the future. Overall, it is evident that the site will undergo significant modernisation, with several areas being restructured, expanded, or relocated to enhance functionality.

In the earlier plan, the gym occupied the central position, while outdoor courts and a changing room were situated around it. Additionally, facilities such as seating and reception areas were relatively limited, reflecting a more traditional arrangement.

By contrast, the future plan demonstrates a more spacious and organised design. For instance, on the west side, the outdoor courts will be removed to make room for a leisure pool and sports shops, as well as an additional changing room located beside the shops. In addition, on the east side, the outdoor courts will be demolished to make way for a sports hall, another changing room, a café, and two dance studios alongside the sports hall. Moreover, the gym area will be expanded, indicating a strong focus on modern convenience and accessibility.

The two pictures below compare the current layout of a university’s sports centre with a plan to redesign the same sports space.

We can easily notice that the whole space will be larger so that more facilities can be included, and the redevelopment plan involves a number of changes to the outdoor courts of the sports center. There are no plans to change the entrance or the reception area.

The most obvious change from the present to the future sports center plan is that there will no longer be two seperate outdoor courts when the redevelopment work has been done. This will be achieved by building a new leisure pool in the west area, two dancing studios as well as a sports hall in the east part. With a larger sports center, there will be more space planned for the Gym in the north area, just behind the 25m pool and sports hall.

At the entrance, the location of reception remains unchanged, however, one sports shop and a cafe will be planned just on the left and right side, respectively. Furthermore, two additional changing rooms will be provided for students and teachers in the western and eastern corner of the reception area.

The information about the layout of a university sports centre now, and how it will look after redevelopment is depicted by the rendred diagram. The data are presented in two separate images, each illustrating different aspects of the map.

Overall, it can be seen that the centre will undergo significant changes in future. In present, in the north and east side are outdoor courts. While, there are plans for replacing outdoor courts to changing room, pool and sports shop.

Looking at the details, in present, in the recpection area, there is a pool of 25m around the pool there is a changing room, a gym and seating area. Whereas, in future, the recpetion area will be extended. On the north side of the centre is expected to be replaced with leisure pool, changing room and sports shop. However, in present time, there is only outdoor courts.

Moving further, on the east side of the map there is a outdoor courts. Nonetheless, in future, there are plans to build with two rooms of dance studios, a changing room and also an café.

The map illustrates the layout of a university’s sports centre now and its proposed plan for redevelopment in the future.

It is clear that there is a 25m pool in the center of the map, surrounded by three facilities such as a gym, a changing room, and seating, and the reception is located at the entrance on the south side of the map. Furthermore, there are two large outdoor courts, which are planned to be expanded. In the first, there will be a leisure pool attached to a pair of changing rooms from the west and the south; however, it is originally situated at the westernmost point of the plan. Additionally, from the entrance there will be a cafe in the east and a sports shop in the west, and in front, there will be the reception desk, which will remain unchanged. Eventually, the redevelopment plan represents two dance studios on the east side of the map, which leads to the gym and a sports hall. Similarly, a changing room will be built directly down from the sports hall, near the cafe.

  7. Cecilia Krauss says:

The plans illustrate the changes that will be made between the current and future layouts of a specific university’s sports center.

Overall, the space will be enlarged to the sides, encompassing the current outdoor courts, extending discreetly further than them, as well as taking over the spaces to their north and south. This will make the entire space a single rectangle with the same width from south to north as the central one.

The central structure, which includes the 25m pool, changing room, seating area, reception, and gym, will remain essentially similar. One of the most glaring differences is the gym, which will grow to the east, basically doubling in size. Additionally, the reception will be stretched to the east, where there will be a café, and to the west, where a sports shop will be built.

The eastern part of the renovation will exhibit a sports hall where there presently lies one of the outdoor courts. Further east, two dance studios, as well as a changing room in the southeastern corner, will be located by the café. Moreover, in the western part of the future layout, the outdoor courts will give way to a leisure pool. Additionally, a changing room will be constructed in the southwestern corner, by the sports shop.
