Alright, so when it comes to one of the most dramatic times that I had to spend in a traffic jam, the first one that springs to my mind is an event that happened in 2022. In November, I still remember it was when I was on my way back home after school, and I tried my best to beat the traffic because my dad was calling me about five times. Ironically, there was a wedding right next to the roundabout. Let me tell you this: in Vietnam, one of the most unique traditional practices is that we often organize weddings and funerals right in our house or in our neighborhood, so that wedding inevitably slowed down the traffic. All means of transport, from private to public transportation, cars, taxis, bikes, and people at the pedestrian crossings were stuck, including me. Furthermore, there were investigators checking the alcohol concentration, which just aggravated the situation. But the most remarkable thing is that even though people were stuck in a dramatic and tough situation, when they saw the bride and groom, they clapped their hands in jubilation. That reminds me of the strong sense of community among Vietnamese people.
