I started spending my evenings with him after his class, going through his hard work together and trying to figure out exactly where he was getting stuff. It wasn’t easy. He was frustrated most of the time and honestly so was I especially after a long day of university war. There was one evening when he was exhausted and ready to quit altogether, but little by little something started to shift. He began asking questions instead of just giving up, and he started actually wanting to understand the material instead of just memorizing it. By the end of the academic year, he had not only cut off his class, but ended up being one of the top students in the history. When I saw his final result, I honestly couldn’t believe it. I was over the moon, probably even more excited than he was.
