I had just recently graduated with a degree in history and during my studies there was one particular module that intrigued me. The paper was titled Modern, sorry, Ancient Indian History. You say I was born and raised in India. So anything that deals with the ancient culture, ancient legacy of India is something that I find interesting and fascinating. This module dealt with the history of India before the Mughals came, before the beginning of the medieval period. It was really interesting to find. I will find out that Indians were one of the most oldest civilization that had ever existed. In these modules, I learned about the civilizations of Harappa and Mohanjadoru. I learned how this golden civilization emerged, how it evolved and how it became what it is today. I also had the opportunity to understand how the ancient Indian kingdoms developed. Most importantly, how India became one of the most richest land in the world. You see, before the colonial conquest, India held 25% of global GDP. So how India became what it was then? That was the main concept that was discussed in these modules. And as an Indian myself, this was something that fascinated me.
