A famous dish I want to speak about today is hummus. It looks like a paste and has a mix of both sour and salty tastes, but mostly sour. People usually eat it here on Fridays because it's the weekend in my country, specifically in the morning just after they wake up. There's a tradition in families here in my region. The tradition is that they send one of the sons, usually the youngest one, to buy this dish from one of the local shops. I think this is one of the reasons why it is famous. It has been famous for over a decade now, or even longer, I think. The main reason behind this is that my country is a developing one, and the majority of the population doesn't have enough money to buy one of those fancy dishes. This is why they tend to buy one of the cheap traditional dishes, and hummus is one of them. You can make it simply by blending chickpeas, lemon juice, yogurt, and a bit of salt in the blender. After getting the mix, you add a bit of tahini, which is made from sesame, and this is the main ingredient in this dish. After blending it, you will get the paste that I mentioned before. I think that most people prefer to eat it with a piece of bread, but some of them eat it with a spoon as well.
