One memorable journey that I’d like to talk about is a short trip I took to Hanoi. Well, although it was only a weekend getaway, it turns out to be one of the most enjoyable trips I’ve had. I went there with my close friend and the moment we arrived, we could already feel the city. Hanoi has this interesting combination of historic streets, traditional culture and modern life which makes it completely different from our place I’ve visited. During the trip, we spend most of our time exploring the old quarter. We wander around the narrow streets, visit small coffee shops and try a lot of local food. The highlights for me was definitely Bun cha and even egg coffee which I had heard about many times but never tried before. Everything was incredibly flavorful and it felt like every street had its own smell and story. About four food, I really enjoy walking around Handgimm Lake, especially in the evening. The lights, the music, the street performers, and the cold, cool breezes created a very relaxing atmosphere. It was a a perfect place to slow down at a busy day exploring the city. What I loved most about this journey was the feeling of being completely free, just working, eating and discovering new things without any pressure. It’s a city full of energy but somehow is still warm and welcoming. Overall, this journey to Hanoi was simple but beautiful and I would definitely love to go back to Hanoi whenever I have a chance.
