Besides my mother tongue Cantonese, I’ve also learned Spanish. It was not long ago, about just a half year. And my first exposure to Spanish is through a renowned Spanish TV series called The Money Heist. It was on Netflix. And then after I saw it, I thought Spanish is a really exotic and rich in culture language so I decided to dig in into Spanish and then I also found I spoke Spanish as one of the most spoken language in all over the world especially in Latin America and also in the US so I decided to take a Spanish course in my university it was just about the last semester and then surprisingly I got a pretty good grade so furthermore I decided to take a summer intensive summer course during July and August. I learned it with a teacher who is from Madrid Spain so the whole course is is pretty well organized and structured. So, very fortunately, I have the chance to learn Spanish in a really traditional and also really theoretical way. And in general, I don’t think Spanish is a very difficult language. I would say it was pretty far away from a difficult language to speak, due to its phonetic features and also similar vocabulary to English. But one thing that really struggled me when I was learning Spanish is the speed of talking Spanish. Like Spanish-speaking people often talks really fast and it really takes me a lot of time and effort to figure out what they’re actually saying. And the listening part in my Spanish exam is also one of the weakest components in my Spanish grade. But overall I think it is a very unforgettable and interesting experience for me to learn the foreign language.
