Growing up I was in the Church Brigade and I was only 8 years old when we went through a camp at Ilele River Street, southern part of Nigeria. Basically what camp entails is that you get to live with different people of the same age group. I wasn’t there with my mom, I wasn’t there with my dad, but I was there with friends. We were there for one week. This took place in 2010. This camp was memorable because we had a series of events from games, competitions, Bible books, dancing competitions. We had a series of events that were fun and because it was so competitive everybody just wanted to put in their best in order to get awards and to be crowned the best adventurer. This was a very memorable event for me because I got to learn new things, I met new friends, I was able to see how competitive I was growing up as a child. But I never knew I was that competitive until this camp took place. I’m very grateful I had the opportunity to partake in this camp. So I think I would actually love to attend such a camp but unfortunately it’s not for my age grade anymore.
