As a travel enthusiast, I have visited a number of places throughout my life, but one place that left a different kind of impression on me was Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. Mainly because of its poor air quality, I am going to share my thoughts and experience about this place. The first time I visited Dhaka was a couple of years ago when I went there to attend a friend's wedding. Honestly, I was quite excited before the trip because I had heard a lot about the city's vibrant culture and delicious street food. However, the moment I arrived, I realized that the air left much to be desired. The reason the air was polluted was the heavy traffic and ongoing construction everywhere. To make matters worse, I also noticed the thick layer of dust on the roads, and there seemed to be a constant haze hanging in the air. I was breathing uncomfortably at the time, and I even started to feel suffocated when I was outdoors for too long. It felt like I was walking through a cloud of smoke, which was quite disappointing. Despite that, Dhaka has its own charm, especially the local biryani and the delicious street foods, but the pollution definitely took the shine off the experience. I think the government should focus on these issues. I remember thinking that if the air were cleaned, the journey would be much more enjoyable. All in all, while I appreciate the hospitality and culture of Dhaka, the polluted air made me realize the importance of clean air.
