I have not received many prizes nor in academics nor in extracurricular activities but during last month I received a trophy. In my class 12th board exams, fortunately I scored excellent percentage and stood at second position all over the school. Our school conducts annual functions every once in two years where they hold a segment to give prizes to students who have scored above 90%. Merit students were invited by their respective class teachers. As me and my friends scored good, we were also invited. So we went together along with our parents. The functions started in the evening and students from various classes performed dance and acts which they had been learning for two months. The Honourable Commissioner of Amritsar was also invited as a Chief Guest. Three hours into the program, our names were announced and the Commissioner presented us with a trophy along with a certificate. The trophy was golden in colour and was medium sized. I was over the moon and felt very honoured. Seeing my parents proud and clapping for me in the audience was a different feeling. I felt very delighted and I vividly remember I burned the midnight oil to achieve this and it was the sole reason due to which my efforts I got a trophy.
