Well, I like to talk about the time I defended my thesis in front of committee during final year at university. It was actually a requirement for graduation and to be honest it was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences I’ve never had. I had to give my academic presentation which focused on drought-resistant invulnerable trees and I also explained my methodology and results. As part of the defense I had to present my research funding including all the data I had collected over several months. What made it more challenging was the fact that I had to answer any unexpected questions on this spot. One thing I tried to do was highlighting the novelty of my work especially use of machine learning to analyze germination patterns and I doubt it would showcase my knowledge and expertise and make good impression on the panel. At first I was overwhelmed with anxiety and my hand was shaking but as the presentation went on I began to gain confidence during the talk especially when I noticed the professors nodding and smiling in the end I feel proud of my performance and I received a great feedback. Look back it was a turning point in my academic journey and I never forget that moment.
