I remember when I was sitting at a bus stop downtown, I got a call from an unknown number. It was noisy and crowded, with cars passing by and people rushing around me. Out of curiosity, I answered, and a woman's voice came through. She asked, "Is this Miss Nam? I found this number in a notebook. Let's ask about the coffee." I was surprised and thought maybe she had the wrong number. Still shy, I mentioned that I had been to a coffee shop earlier that day. I checked my bag just to be sure I hadn't left anything important like my keys or phone. I explained the misunderstanding politely, and she apologized. I felt touched; it was totally friendly and gracious. I wished her good luck in finding the right person. I felt as if I was talking to a stranger in public, especially with people around me listening. But overall, I felt good for being polite and helpful, even if just for a moment. That experience reminds me that small conversations, even with strangers, can leave a surprisingly positive impression.
