It was very painful for our Soviet economy to transition from the planned economy to the free market economy. A lot of vendors were right in the street markets. This is exactly where we bought our food, where we bought our clothes. It was not very convenient because you had to change right in their tents. They usually cover you for example when you wanted to try on and you, for example, blouse or trousers. They just unfolded some quilt and hid you behind that. You had to stay somewhere on the dirty cottonborgs and quickly get changed. That was something we got used to in those times. Nowadays it can sound a little bit wild but that was our reality back in the days.
