Okay, I remember vividly the time I helped my cousin sister learn how to sew because I am a nurse and I am also a professional fashion designer. She was intending to learn how to sew because she did not have anything she was doing. She had graduated, and there was no job due to unemployment, so she decided to venture into business and sought my help to teach her how to make clothes, draft designs, and cut patterns. She faced a lot of difficulties with drafting patterns and cutting clothes. That is the hardest part of fashion designing. After cutting, it is quite easy; you just have to join it together. However, the drawing of patterns, the embellishments, and the cutting aspects were very difficult for her. She had to put in a lot of effort. I had to teach her repeatedly before she could eventually grasp it. Continuously, I am still giving her lessons because this sewing and fashion design business is not something you learn in a day. For example, the way technology is advancing every day is how the fashion industry is improving as well, so you have to be up to date with everything that is going on. Most of the time, when I see a new design or anything new related to our job, I study it, often on YouTube. Sometimes I pay to learn from a professional. I can find resources on TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. Whenever I see a new design, I forward it to her and give her multiple assignments on it because the more she practices, the more she will understand it. There is a saying: you have to keep practicing and keep going before you eventually become a master. Practice makes perfect. Yes, practice makes perfect. So if you continue practicing, you will get used to it. She continued practicing, and eventually, she is now improving.
