Band 6+: describe a time you were late for something important

One time I was late for something important was during a trip to Fuyen in April this year. My friends and I had planned everything carefully, including taking a morning train from Ho Chi Minh City to Fuyen. The night before the trip, I was too excited to sleep properly. I kept imagining how fun the jeep would be, but the big mistake I made was not double-checking the departure time of the train. For some reason, I had it in my head that the train would leave at half past six a.m., so I thought leaving my house around 5:50 would be perfect. That morning, I was moving slowly, having breakfast and packing with Dara Singh. While I was on the way to the station, one of my friends called and asked why I hadn't arrived yet. I still thought, why is everyone in such a hurry? But the moment I reached the station, I heard the sound of a train leaving. I didn't think much of it until I handed my ticket to the staff, and they said, 'Your train already left.' That was like a bolt from the blue. I couldn't believe it. I checked again and realized the train had actually departed at 6 a.m., not 6:30 as I had thought. I panicked and had no idea what to do. Luckily, two of my friends had also missed the train, so the three of us decided to book a coach instead. It was far from ideal, but the coach couldn't leave until 9 a.m. and wouldn't arrive until the evening. On top of that, we had to wait under the hot sun, feeling tired and sleepy.
