For me, competitions are something very sacred. I take any sort of contest very seriously. But, like any normal person, participating in those comes with nerves. Because I have a strong support system within my family, I often ask them for assistance, guidance, or merely emotional support before I take part in these competitions. My mother can especially empathize because she also used to participate in many sports matches that made her anxious. Therefore, whenever I express my anxiety about the upcoming event to her, it is a tradition for her to perform this very dramatic and silly move on me and project all her quote-unquote magical energy to my head. Moreover, to ensure that I win, she never comes to watch me while I perform or compete, as that ruins my chances of success. This is a family tradition that we believe in. Having these superstitions may come off as a bit goofy to others, but it really gives me confidence.
