Since I live in a mostly majority country we actually celebrate two Eids but I enjoy Eid Ul Fitr the most and this festival takes place right after the holy month of Ramadan where we fast from sunrise to sunset. The day changes every year because it follows the Islamic calendar but it is always a time of great excitement when the new moon is sighted. On the day of Eid the celebration starts from a very early man very early man go to to musk you or large open fields to perform a special morning prayer. After that everyone oyes new traditional clothes. We visit our relatives and neighbors to exchange grittin and say eat mubarak. A big part of that day is the food. We eat a lot of sweets like biryani, sweet sweets like bar misali and delicious savoury dishes. So it is a tradition for elders to give money called salami or idhi to children which makes the kids very happy. This festival is important to me for a few reasons. First, it is a time for familiarity in young people because I am usually busy with my studies. Idhi is the only time I can see all my relatives at once. Again it teaches us about charity and kindness and we are encouraged to share food and money with poor people so everyone can celebrate. Finally the ambience is just very peaceful and heavy which helps me feel refreshed.
