One type of peer pressure that affects me the most is the pressure to get good grades. At my school, many of my classmates are really smart, hardworking and competitive, so there’s always a feeling that you need to keep up or even do better than others. This pressure affects me because I’m someone who sets high goals for myself, especially since I want to get into a top university. When I see others getting high score or studying all the time, I sometimes feel anxious or doubt myself even though I’m trying my best. To deal with this pressure, I try to focus on my own progress instead of comparing myself to others. I remind myself that everyone has their own pace and that hard work matters more than just results. I also take short breaks to relax, talk to close friends or listen to music when things will feel overwhelming. In the end, I think a little pressure is okay. It can motivate me. I have learned that taking care of my mental health is just as important as doing well in school.
