One intelligent person I really look up to is Terence Tao, known as an Australian and American mathematician and professor in the Department of Mathematics at UCLA. He was born in 1975. I have followed incredible news about him on Instagram and YouTube for more than two years, and I personally consider him to fit the description of an intelligent individual. He knows a great deal about harmonic analysis, partial differential equations, and algebraic combinatorics, which is the toughest topic in math, and even applications of artificial intelligence in mathematics. What stands out to me is the age he started teaching himself to write. By age 8, he was working through high school math. At 9, he scored an incredible 760 out of 800 on the math section of the SAT. His estimated IQ is around 231, one of the highest scores ever recorded. On top of that, he has had 300 papers published. I consider him intelligent not only because of his problem-solving ability but also because of his strategic thinking. Instead of focusing on just one specialty, Tao has worked across dozens of mathematical fields. Moreover, he is someone who quietly solves problems that have stumped experts for decades. The thing I admire is his humility. He doesn't try to be a genius; he just is, which really fascinates me and inspires me to be the same.
