An interesting place I visited with a friend is Shirvan Shah Palaz. It’s located in Baku and it’s a historical monument. My friend and I are interested in the history and we want to explore this place because we have learned about this in study books. So when we arrived we spent hours exploring the palace complex which includes a mosque, mausoleum and the palace itself. The architecture is stunning and intercede stone carvings and the mix of Persian and Islamic influences. We also visited the museum inside where we saw the ancient crafts and artifacts that helped us understand how people lived there during the Shirvan Shahs. What makes this place interesting is not just its history but also the fact that it felt like you are stepping back in time. The atmosphere is calm and reflective and from the top of the palace you get a panoramic view of the city. It’s a place where you can appreciate both history and beauty. For me it’s one of the most memorable places I visited in Baku and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys history.
