It was 5 years ago when the doctors told me that my grandmother could recover from her chronic disease as well as her diabetic wound in 4-5 months. It’s 3 months being a generous estimate. We were fine with waiting for her recovery as her family and remaining relatives were pretty much dead except for us but during our wait we felt a sense of impending doom and disturbance as if we were going to lose her at any moment. It was not helped by the fact that her condition only worsens over time as in the first month everything was fine seemingly. She could eat, she could drink, she could talk and she could use the bathroom without any assistance. On the second month however, her lower body began to fail. Her legs went numb and black spots started to appear on her legs as well as on her arms. And by the last month she could barely do anything. She was not able to talk, she was not able to see and she was not able to move except for a little twitch that she could barely control in her fingers and in the last week she could not do anything at all. During the last week of her life, my grandmother was not conscious and she could not even talk, she could not walk. And on the last day she passed away. She died of a painful heart attack alone, without her child, without her grandchild by her side. It was a painful and tragic death for my grandmother. Thank you for listening.
