Since I have been driving for several years, she asked me to help her learn the basics before enrolling in a driving school. We began with simple lessons such as starting the car, using the clutch and gear stick and understanding how to stop and start smoothly. I also explained the importance of following traffic rules and staying alert. At first we practiced in an empty parking lot which helped to build her confidence greatly. The main reason I took on this teaching role was because I wanted to sport her so she could become independent and self-reliant. Driving is an essential skill these days and I felt it was important. She learned it properly for someone she trusted. The experience was very fulfilling although challenging at times. There was a moment when she could panic or stall the car. But I remained patient and encouraging her to keep trying. Eventually she gained enough confidence and passed her driving test successfully. Seeing her overcome her fear and mastered the skill made me feel proud and satisfied that I could make a difference in her life.
