I think that access to tertiary education should be decided by merit instead of financial resources. This is to ensure that students have the opportunities they deserve, recognizing their hard work rather than their birthright. Those youngsters have put their energy and soul into academics just to get a passport to a better future. So I think the admission officers of higher education institutions nowadays place more emphasis on academic performance as well as concrete activities and leadership skills instead of financial resources, which means they should offer scholarships and discounts or just lower their tuition fees to ensure that everyone has equitable access to quality education. This can change their lives.
