Actually, it depends on the situation, like the environment of the workplace. If the environment is toxic, where people cannot talk to each other and colleagues dislike each other, how can a manager be a friend with a lower-ranked employee? But if the environment is friendly, where bosses and managers share stories and co-workers, lower-ranked workers share their food, then I think friendship is not based on wealth or status. It is really based on mindset. If you have the same mindset, you can easily be friends. For example, my father's best friend is the manager of my father. So that means my father doesn't have a best friend? Yes, of course, he has. Because their mindsets were similar, they are really good friends. But if friendship were based on wealth, my father couldn't be friends with the manager. So it is really important.
