I don't think that sportspeople, for example, some top footballers such as Messi or Ronaldo, are paid too much money. I think it's because they have a lot of people's attention on the football match, which gathers a hefty amount of income for organizers. For example, in one football match of Ronaldo vs Messi, maybe half of the population in the world watches it, which can bring a huge amount of attention to the match. The advertisers can insert their products into the middle of the match to earn widespread attention, therefore gaining a host of customers. This can bring benefits to the organizers and the football show altogether. These famous top footballers can, in turn, gain a lot of money.
