One memorable time when I encountered someone doing something they didn't want to do was when I persuaded my class friend to participate in a speaking competition at our school. My friend is very intelligent and hardworking, but she is extremely shy and lacks self-confidence. Her English was excellent, but she was terrified of speaking in front of a large audience because she was afraid of making small mistakes and being judged by others. I encouraged her because I genuinely believed that she had great potential, and this experience could help her become more confident. Nobody is perfect, and making mistakes is completely normal. I also told her that confidence develops through practice, not appearing overnight. To support her, I prepared a speech, listened to her rehearsals, and gave constructive feedback whenever she felt nervous. At first, she was still hesitant and wanted to quit several times, but after a lot of encouragement, she agreed to participate in the speaking competition. In the end, she performed far better than she expected. She gradually relaxed and delivered an impressive speech, and she won second place, which boosted her confidence immensely. Overall...
