Perception of success is really influenced by culture, but not only between different countries. Culture has been modified in the same community as well. In the late Mexican culture, if you weren't married by the age of 20, you would not have anything in life, and that meant you were doing something wrong. However, in recent years, like the last 40 to 50 years, it has become successful to travel and have a stable job. It's still a personal fulfillment for some to get married and have a family, but now it isn't as important as it used to be.
