There are many adverse effects of the globalization of food production, which directly affects local farming communities. For example, Nepal itself is a nation that has more imports than exports, from needles to big tech devices. Everything is imported from other nations, such as India, China, or Korea. Nepal is not self-dependent. For instance, farmers in the plain regions, known as the Terai regions of Nepal, are suffering from these issues. When food is imported from other countries, for instance, the onions that are harvested and grown in Nepal are not utilized within the country because onions are imported from other nations, such as India. This discourages farmers from farming in a nation that is rich in agriculture and water resources. This globalization of food production is damaging local production, not providing proper rates, and not giving any value to those products. Therefore, the use of local products should be enhanced.
