I think the definition of successful career has changed quite a lot over the years. In my parent generation success was usually associated with having a stable, well-bred job that offers long term security. Many people aim to work for the same employer for decades, especially in professions like teaching, banking or government service. In contrast, people imagine that a broad view of career success while financial security is still important. Many of us also value job satisfaction, work-life balance, flexibility and opportunities for personal work. For example, it is now quite common for young people to switch careers, work remotely or even start their own business if it means pursuing. I also think that advances in technology have created career paths that simply didn’t exist in past such as content creation, digital marketing and software development. Overall, I believe my generation places greater emphasis on happiness and fulfillment whereas my opinion generation prioritizes stability and financial security.
