Although standardized tests can measure the standard academic ability of a student, they can't actually measure creativity and critical thinking skills. Standardized tests tend to be repetitive, and students can reference previous tests and memorize their answers. However, this can hinder their creativity and critical thinking skills because many standardized tests don't create new questions, as they have been implemented for around a century.
