To be honest, I don't think traditional exams always show what a student can really do. They usually test how fast someone can remember things and finish tasks in a short time. But in real life, we often need to be creative and work with others, and we encounter unexpected problems that are not usually checked. From my own experience, I've seen students who are very smart and hardworking, but they get nervous during tests and do poorly. On the other hand, there are students who are creative during exams, but they can't express their ideas clearly or work very well in a team. That's why I feel traditional exams are not always fair or complete. In short, exams can still be used for testing basic knowledge, but they shouldn't be the only way to assess a student. If schools also use things like projects or presentations, they could get a better idea of a student's real strengths and how they may perform well.
