I think I would never use dark black or orange in my home. These colors don't make me feel comfortable, and I think they might be overwhelming for others as well. I prefer lighter, more calming colors.

That would definitely be red, specifically the large splashes of red, because I think red is so stimulating color, it sometimes makes me feel agitated, anxious or sometimes depressed. For this reason, I guess red is not easy home color to relax.
