I think children want new things because they love changing their toys and other types of electronic devices such as tablets or computers. However, older people may not want to change anything. Firstly, their financial concerns are the main reason for that, and they also don't like to throw things away because these items remind them of their own past, which is quite valuable for a variety of older people.
